Dr Haili Hughes was a teacher and leader in secondary schools for over 15 years and now works in the coaching, mentoring and PD system leadership space, both nationally and internationally. As well as her roles at IRIS Connect and the University of Sunderland, she facilitates and marks the ECF and NPQs for two national providers and leads the English subject content at a SCITT. She has also advised the Department for Education as an ITT Quality Advisor over the last two years. Recently, she was elected to the council of the Chartered College of Teaching. She speaks in hundreds of schools every year, all over the world and has written four education books, with eight more on the way – one of them on teacher retention.
